Going to the show

Hey all, I've been receiving a little flack from people that I've not updated my blog, especially with photos from the wonderful wedding we have just attended. At least this means people are reading.

Well the wedding was quiet an event, and one of the best I've attended. The bride and groom are amazing people, whom I've been lucky to get to know a little. So of course they held an amazing wedding. But for those that requested to here about it... tough, because I'm going to talk about something else.

One of the great things about the US is all the live entertainment that you can see. I talked about the play and the concert we went to in DC, I may have mentioned the Broadway show 'promises promises' that we saw in New York before. It was a really excellent show. Also we got to see one called 'Fiddler on the roof' in Philadelphia is about traditional Jewish people in Russia, and very funny.

The last two days we've been back in New York, last night when we got in, we went for a walk and got convinced on the street to go see a live comedy show. The fine print was that we had to spend a heap of money on drinks to stay at the show. So after going across town for this show we decided to leave, and ended up drinking mojitos in a Latin club instead, which was much cheaper, and more fun.

Today we went for a tour of NBC studios, and also managed to get into the rehearsal of the Jimmy Fallon show, which was great fun. The writers came and chatted to us while we waited, and then Jimmy did his monologue for us. What is also cool is, as I'm writing this in bed in our hotel room, I'm watching the Jimmy Fallon show on TV. And he used only the jokes that we laughed the hardest for.

Tonight we went to another show, 'South Pacific' which is an old classic, and not as good as I'd hoped, but still enjoyable. I think that might be it for our shows for the trip. We leave for Burlington Vermont tomorrow. And have only about a week left here in the US.

Oh and for those still waiting for news on the wedding, along with photos, stay tuned.

  1. Good stuff Geoff, good to hear you're having fun.

I was wondering what happened though, as you sent out the invite, I added the blog to my RSS reader, and then it went silent. :)
