Due to popular demand, this post is about Sean and Shana's wedding.
Firstly let me say that this couple are wonderful, interesting, fun people. I am very pleased to have finally met them, and to be a part of their celebration.
Bec and I drove up to Vermont from cherry hill with Carla. almost 8 hours on the road found us at the ski resort. No snow however, as it was mid to high 30's in temperature.
Most of the guests for the wedding were staying at the hotel. Brownsville has a population of 493, so our being there increased the population by around 20%.
The bridal party was staying at Donna's house. Donna had offered to host the wedding, she has a wonderful house on a big lot of land, and they cleared a big patch of ground, knocked down trees, and did all sorts of things to make it the perfect destination wedding. A giant Marque and lots of work by a bunch of people completed the picture.
Friday Night was dinner held by the family for the guests, and included a roast of the bride and groom. Saturday afternoon was the main event. Sean and Shana were married under an apple tree, and it was a wonderful intimate ceremony, which gave us a real sense of their feelings for each other.
The celebrant was a polish guy who actually grew up in Adelaide. The bridal party was the first I've seen with all guys. Shana's brother was there, along with Seans Best Man, and Shana's Matron of honour.
Then the reception got under way, there were cocktails, dinner and dancing. Everyone had a great time. I was very flattered to be included in the speeches, for travelling so far for the wedding, and for helping out with preparations (not that I did that much).
The following day we had a brunch for those that could get up early enough, and before we knew it, i was all over and the newly-weds were off to Main for a mini honeymoon (the real one will be later in the year).
I'm so happy that Bec and I were able to come for this wedding. Otherwise I would not be able to have gotten o know all the wonderful people I've met here.
