Land of many Cows

We have been staying in a wonderful little place called Burlington in Vermont. Bec has her course here, so while she has been hard at work, I've been relaxing, and checking out the town.

Something I've notice here is that they really, and I mean they really like cows.

Walking up the arcade in town, a street called church street due to the massive church at the far end, I decided it would be better named Cow street. Lining the walkway was all these painted statues of cows. Over 20 cows in total.

Aside from the cow weirdness, Burlington is a really nice place, it's on the shore of lake Champlain, has nice park areas, and a great atmosphere. This town is a university town, with 3 universities within 20 minutes drive of the center. School is out right now, but it still seems busy, on the weekend there was a beer festival which looked to have a couple thousand people crowded under tents drinking away.

Today we took a drive out to some cool sites. .first we visited the Vermont teddy bear factory, which was very cool. It made me wish I was 5, so I could get a teddy for myself. Then we hit this christmas store, which is famous. It had all sorts of decorations, and crazy christmas gear. This store just made me want to be an elf.

Later we drove out to the Ben and Jerrys ice cream factory, which was crazy busy.I'm realising this whole cow thing now. Ben and Jerry were two dudes from Burlington who after dropping out of school because they were fat and lazy, started selling ice cream. Now they are millionaires, and it's all because of those cows.

We also saw a town called Montpelier, which is the capital of Vermont, and we were told is the smallest capital in the US. It's tiny!

Another highlight was our dinner cruise on the lake with a big band, but apart from that we have been chilling out, getting ready to come home in a few days. and having milk and cookies each night - They are complimentary at the hotel.

Yikes it's midnight, time for some sleep. I may not get a chance to blog before we are start our way homewards. Looking forward to getting home, and being able to share these sorts of things with all of you in person.
